The Last Caretaker Anna Echo: How to Get It and What It Does

Short answer: The Anna Echo is a reusable artifact from North Bastion. Finish the story there (I Know This Place gives you Dolly), then take the Oath Token to Anna’s hologram and she gives you the Anna Echo. In a Lazarus Pod it adds 100 to each of a human’s ten attributes, twice the Oath Token, and it is not used up.

How to Get the Anna Echo

How do you get the Anna Echo?

Finish the North Bastion story first: in I Know This Place you switch on Anna’s Reconstruction Unit and get Dolly. Then take the Oath Token to Anna’s hologram in the laboratory, and she gives you the Anna Echo.

With the Oath Token already in your backpack when you switch the unit on, the Anna Echo may arrive together with Dolly.

Why did I only get Dolly?

Got only Dolly? That is the usual first result. Fetch the Oath Token, which may still be sitting in a Lazarus Pod from your last human, and carry it to Anna.

Where is the Oath Token?

In The Fourth Chamber, a hidden underwater cave that Update 5 added, at map coordinates about 109, -33. The Oath Token is in the loot inside.

What the Anna Echo Does

What does the Anna Echo do?

Put it in a Lazarus Pod while a human grows and it adds 100 to each of the ten attributes, from Adaptability to Wisdom. That is twice what the Oath Token gives.

It is an artifact, the top kind of memory item, and weighs 3 kg, the same as the Oath Token.

Is the Anna Echo used up?

No. Like the Oath Token, it is not used up when a human grows, so you can put it back in for the next one.

Can Anna come with you?

Anna’s hologram stays in North Bastion, and her interactions and dialogue stay available after the storyline ends.

All Four Reusable Artifacts

How many artifacts are there?

There are four reusable artifacts: the Anna Echo, Dolly, the Oath Token and A Future without Him. None of them is used up when a human grows.

What does Dolly give?

Dolly is the reward for switching Anna’s unit back on. It adds 500 Empathy, 50 to Adaptability, Communication, Creativity, Discipline and Focus, and 10 to Leadership, Logic, Patience and Wisdom.

Where is A Future without Him?

A Future without Him lies in Aron’s room at North Deep Intake Station and belongs to the Memory for Aron questline that Update 5.5 added. It adds 5 to each attribute and weighs 0.1 kg.

Memory for Aron may not start at the station at all, but from the Rising Tide game on a PECO terminal once you reach 300 points.
