The Last Caretaker I Know This Place: Find and Scan the Six Modules

Short answer: I Know This Place is the North Bastion story quest in Update 6 that restores Anna. Six of the ten modules in her Reconstruction Unit are missing: Adaptability, Communication, Creativity, Empathy, Leadership and Wisdom. Find each original in North Bastion and scan it (you cannot pick it up), build a replacement, install all six and switch the unit on; Anna appears and gives you Dolly. The Leadership module, the one players get stuck on, is behind a hidden wall in the meeting room.

What the quest asks, the six modules, the ending and where the Leadership module is are official (A) or cross-checked in Steam threads and videos (B). Module colors and where the other five are come from one source each and are marked C.

Game version: Early Access, Update 6 (October 19, 2026); evidence from the public beta (October 9–18) to October 25, 2026

What I Know This Place Asks You to Do

Which modules are missing?

The unit holds ten numbered modules, so four are still in place. The missing ones are 1 Adaptability, 2 Communication, 3 Creativity, 5 Empathy, 7 Leadership and 10 Wisdom.

Each module has its own color: green Adaptability, light blue Communication, pink Creativity, orange Empathy, purple Leadership and white Wisdom. A Steam player also remembers Leadership as purple.

How do you get the modules?

Scan the originals; you cannot pick them up. Players in two Steam threads tried to pick them up first, and Channel37’s release-day fixes made the Anna modules easier to scan.

Scanning a module unlocks it to build, the way scanning works across the game. Build each replacement and install all six in the unit; one player in the beta did not realize at first that the modules had to be scanned and built.

What happens when all six are in?

Switch the unit on once all six are in and Anna appears. Players then receive Dolly, a memory: the hologram sheep that was made for Anna.

Where the Modules Are

North Bastion is cold enough to hurt you, and some doorways are sealed by ice, so bring heat before you search it.

Where is the Leadership module?

The Leadership module is in a hidden room off the meeting room. Crouch and look under the desks on the left, in front of the round table: one has a red button, with a green glowstick beside it and a broken robot on the floor pointing at it. Press E on the button (one player clicked it with the left mouse button first and nothing happened), and the gaps in the far wall behind the round table open into the hidden room.

Where is the Empathy module?

The Empathy module is said to be at the back of the Doctor's Office. The way in is through the office itself; melting the ice on that door with a room heater did not work for the player who found it. SubiPilot’s beta walkthrough goes there at 12:25.

Where are the other modules?

Nobody we read has described where Adaptability, Communication, Creativity and Wisdom are in words yet. SubiPilot’s beta walkthrough goes to each in turn: Communication at 9:27, Adaptability at 10:31, Creativity at 11:13 and Wisdom at 11:48. One player says each floor the elevator stops at has a module.

After the Quest

What happens with Anna after the story?

Anna’s hologram stays in North Bastion, and her interactions and dialogue stay available after the storyline ends.

Since Update 6, take the Oath Token to Anna’s hologram in North Bastion once you have finished the story there, and you get a second artifact, the Anna Echo. The hologram itself stays in North Bastion.
