The Last Caretaker Mods: Where to Get Them, How to Install and What They Risk

Short answer: Mods for The Last Caretaker are on Nexus Mods, with more than 250 listed; there is no Steam Workshop and Channel37 does not make them. Install them with Vortex, Nexus Mods’ mod manager, and back up your save first. The popular ones raise carry weight and storage, speed up salvaging and grinding, and cut gyrocopter fuel. Mods can crash the game or corrupt saves after an update, so remove them before you contact support.

Where to Get Mods and How to Install Them

Where do you get mods for The Last Caretaker?

On Nexus Mods, which lists more than 250 mods for the game. There is no Steam Workshop, so mods are for the PC version and come from players, not from Channel37.

How do you install mods?

The simplest way is Vortex, Nexus Mods’ own mod manager, which supports The Last Caretaker: click the mod’s Vortex download button and let it install. Back up your save folder first.

Some mods are Blueprint mods that need a mod loader such as DML (DmgModLoader), which finds and adds them by itself.

Popular Mods

Is there a multiplayer or co-op mod?

No official one. There are only unofficial co-op experiments from 2026 that sync where the other player is, not a full shared game; our Multiplayer page tracks them.

Are there cheats or a mod menu?

Cheats come from trainers rather than mods: trainer apps offer about 24 options such as refilling health and battery, adding XP and teleporting, for both the Steam and the Epic Games version. There are no official console commands.

Community mods add the cheat menu: a Dev Menu mod, installed with a mod loader, spawns items and refills power and fuel. Channel37 does not support it.

Mods and Your Save

Are mods safe for your save?

Channel37 says it supports modders but cannot help with mods or third-party tools during Early Access. Mods can crash the game and corrupt saves, especially when a roadmap update comes out, and some damage a save for good. Before you contact support, remove them, including the files they added in AppData, and verify the game files in Steam.

Why does the game crash after an update?

Expect mods to break when the game updates. If the game crashes after an update, remove your mods or turn them off half at a time until you find the one that is out of date.
