The Last Caretaker Mitochondrial Amplifier: How to Get It and Which Meals Use It

Short answer: Mitochondrial Amplifier is a rare food material you make from Bio Flesh in a Soilforge (skill tier 10). Get Bio Flesh by destroying and dismantling sharks and Angels. Three meals use it: Mitochondrial Surge (2), Hyper-Evolution (1) and Ultimate Genesis (5).

How to Get Mitochondrial Amplifier

What is Mitochondrial Amplifier?

Mitochondrial Amplifier is a rare food material, a dark blue liquid you cook into the strongest human meals in the Food Processor. You cannot pick it from crops; you make it.

How do you get Mitochondrial Amplifier?

Feed Bio Flesh into a Soilforge. The machine turns organic matter into food materials, and Bio Flesh is the input that yields Mitochondrial Amplifier, together with Nanite Nutrient and Bioregulator.

The Soilforge unlocks at skill tier 10 and costs one skill point. Soilforge Prime, a faster model, comes at tier 21.

Soilforge Prime needs power and fresh water, has a temperature handle that trades power and water for speed, and gives off methane you can pipe into a tank.

Where do you get Bio Flesh?

Bio Flesh comes from the machines you take apart. Destroy a shark or an Angel, then dismantle the wreck: one Talon Shark gave 8 Bio Flesh and one Arch Angel gave 4 in an Update 5.5 recording. Sharks come back, so they are the steady supply.

The wiki puts a Talon Shark at 10 Bio Flesh, so expect the count to vary from wreck to wreck. Dead sharks and Angels lying at some locations can be dismantled too.

Which Meals Use It

What is Mitochondrial Amplifier used for?

Three meals take it: Mitochondrial Surge needs 2, Hyper-Evolution needs 1 and Ultimate Genesis needs 5. Each also takes Nanite Nutrient and Bioregulator from the same Bio Flesh.

Nanite Infusion is disputed: one source lists Mitochondrial Amplifier in it and the wiki’s recipe has none. The Human Calculator leaves it out of totals until a game screen settles it.

Which meal needs the most?

Ultimate Genesis uses the most, 5 per meal, and it is also the meal that adds the most intellect (+50). If you are growing a human with a high intellect target, plan your Bio Flesh around it.
